Water main break hits Chestermere

A water main break hit Chestermere early Tuesday morning.

The break happened near the areas of Lakeside Greens Drive and Lakeside Greens Crescent.

According to the city, homeowners may experience a decrease in water pressure as crews work on the break.

"City personnel and contractors are on-site to assess the extent of the break and the necessary repairs," wrote the city.

According to the city, as of Wednesday (Jan. 29) repairs are finished, and crews are backfilling the construction area.

"Flushing has already begun, which may result in increased water turbidity or water discoloration," added the city in a news release.

Staff say it's normal and not a safety concern.
