The Saskatchewan Rush improved to 5-2 with a big win over the Albany FireWolves Saturday night in Saskatoon, with a final score of 17-13.

The player of the game was 20-year-old goaltender Thomas Kiazyk, who made 39 saves in his first career start.

In this week’s edition of Rush Reach, Cody Janzen talked with Calum McAnally about Kiazyk’s first win.

“Without him locking in there after a rough start, none of it matters. Robert Church with a 10 point performance, Ryan Keenan at 9 points, those guys were awesome, but at the end of the day you need to your goaltender to come through clutch and that’s exactly what Thomas Kiazyk was for the Rush.”
