Senior programs in Chestermere have received additional funding for the upcoming year.
According to a news release from the city, a total of $28,000 has been allocated to two grant programs including $16,000 to the Chestermere Senior All Services for connections for South Asian seniors along with the Chestermere Whitecappers Association for senior fitness programs.
The Community Grant funding was approved by members of City Council during a meeting on Tuesday (Jan. 28).
"This money was previously allocated to an organization during a previous grant cycle for an event that didn’t move forward. As a result, the Grant Adjudication Committee recommended these grants to Council to ensure the funds were allocated to the local non-profit community," added the city.
The city said the Grant Adjudication Process is under review by members of city administration and will be sent back to Council at a later time.
