Camp Tamarack wins $50K grant to expand access for youth with disabilities

Camp Tamarack has received a $50,000 grant from Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink.

This funding will help the camp, which serves children with and without disabilities, to expand its facilities and programs.

The grant will be used to build a yurt for additional programming space and beds, and to upgrade the kitchen to serve more campers.

In 2024, Camp Tamarack served over 3,400 youth, nearly doubling its impact from the previous year.

The camp’s mission is to enrich lives through peer-supported outdoor experiences that foster confidence, leadership, and social connection.

With these improvements, even more youth will have the opportunity to experience adventure, leadership, and community.
