Community Futures Wild Rose (CFWR) in Strathmore has provided a list of tips for businesses if tariffs are imposed by the end of February.

According to the group, open communication is needed including the importance of talking to clients.

"Understand how tariffs might affect their purchasing decisions. By maintaining clear communication, you can anticipate their needs and adapt your offerings accordingly," mentioned the organization in a news release.

Businesses can also work with suppliers by discussing the potential impact on pricing and availability.

"They can help you identify opportunities to adjust your operations and remain competitive," added the group.

CFWR mentioned that businesses can also streamline their operations that are no longer needed to help better serve clients along with an opportunity to help with supply chains.

"Reduce reliance on U.S.-based suppliers by exploring domestic or international alternatives. This will help minimize exposure to tariffs."

CFWR also said businesses can use data to track how they're doing along with finding trends or challenges by understanding cash flow, costs, and income.

"Consider new revenue streams to absorb additional expenses without significantly impacting your customers."

The organization added that businesses should continue to innovate as trade relations persist with the U.S.

StrathmoreNow has reached out to CFWR for comment on the story, but we have yet to hear back.
