Missing medical equipment presumed stolen from SHA site in Wakaw

In its third quarter report on Losses of Public Money, the health ministry tabled a loss report from the Saskatchewan Health Authority regarding an SHA site in Wakaw. 

Medical equipment amounting to $3000 in value was reported missing and presumed stolen from the Wakaw based site.  

In the report, the SHA confirms that it has “tightened controls in the affected areas, including secured supply room with a lock and sign-out sheet, reduced the number of supplies kept in treatment and clinic rooms, and increased manager presence during extended hours.” 

The equipment was noted missing over a period of six months in 2024 according to the Ministry’s release.
