Another 15 centimetres of snow combined with strong northerly winds have combined for tough sledding on area highways this morning. Highway 5 near Humboldt is snow covered and snow packed in places with heavy drifting, particularly in the westbound lane.

Sheltered areas and curves harbour the usual problem spots. Visibility continues to be reduced, particularly in traffic.

The Saskatchewan Highway hotline has travel not recommended postings for Highway 20 and Highway 16 from Saskatoon to Dafoe and along Highway 5 from the number 2 junction to Saskatoon.

Environment Canada expects some light snowfall to continue throughout the day, tapering off this evening. Winds are also expected to die down as the day progress.

Check the Highway Hotline if you have to head out and use the track my plow feature.
