Bienfait’s annual Battle in the Barn is back for its 14th year, running from March 27 to 30 at the Bienfait Memorial Arena. This 3-on-3 tournament has become a highlight of the hockey season, drawing families from near and far.
“We’re really excited about it,” said Danielle Woolsey, one of the event’s organizers. She noted the event’s long-standing success, thanks to continued support from the local hockey community.
The cost for each team to participate in the weekend long tournament is $400 which equals out to be around $50 per player. “We like to keep it affordable so anyone can come out and play, not just the top-tier players,” Woolsey explained. Each team consists of 8 players—7 skaters and a goalie—and the action is fast-paced, with no offsides and no icing.
Families interested in registering can contact Woolsey at 306-461-8609 or by email at bienfaithockey@gmail.com. Full details, including the rules, are available at Bienfaithockey
The event will feature divisions for U9, U11, U13, U15, and U18 age groups. “We’re only going to let in five teams per division,” Woolsey explained. If one division has fewer teams, spots will be opened up in others. The deadline for registration is March 1, 2025, and Woolsey urged families to sign up early as spots are limited.
