Lakewood of Strathmore has announced a special initiative to help support the Strathmore Overnight Shelter.
The community has been running the Growth and Giving initiative which is supported by how much development is happening at Lakewood.
"The way that this comes together, it's tying our growth to the community and as the community advances, so does our giving back," explained Scott Silva, director of sales and marketing with Lakewood.
The neighborhood said that there are key milestones they need to hit to be able to give the money out including:
- 80 per cent of the available lots in Phase 2B are sold to builders.
- Getting past the development approvals.
- Staying on course with the construction schedule.
- Completing construction on the homes and selling them.
For every lot bought in phase 2B at Lakewood, the overnight shelter will receive $1,000. With 76 lots up for grabs, the shelter could be eligible for $76,000 to use the money.
Lakewood plans to give the shelter a donation in the summer or fall this year.
