Following the latest winter experience, road conditions have been less than ideal throughout the province.

Saskatchewan RCMP said in a news release that between 12:00pm on Wednesday (Feb.5) and Thursday (Feb.6), they have received reports of 28 motor vehicle collisions. Also, during that timeframe, they received an additional 14 calls relating to other vehicle incidents including vehicles being stuck on roadways or in the ditch.

As of Thursday afternoon, sections of central and southern areas are experiencing poor road conditions.

Sask RCMP also asks the public to avoid calling 911 or their local RCMP detachments for road conditions. 911 calls are reserved for emergencies and crimes in progress and using it in a non-emergency situation could prevent someone with a life-threatening emergency from getting help.

The most up to date information on road conditions, including what roads have been plowed, salted, and/or sanded within the last two hours can be found at the highway hotline.
