The Agra Risk Wheatland Kings are battling for an important playoff position this weekend.
The Kings will take on the Medicine Hat Cubs on Friday, Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. with a chance to take second place in the division and home-ice advantage for the second round.
In order to do that the Kings will have to beat the Cubs on Friday night and hope Medicine Hat loses on Sunday, Feb. 9 against the Coaldale Copperheads.
The Kings will also play the Copperheads on Saturday, Feb. 8 and securing a second win would help increase their chances.
The Strathmore team currently has 51 points, compared to the Cubs 52 points.
The Cubs have held the series edge over the Kings this year going 2-1.
The Kings have had a magical season so far by breaking a team record.
"We're at the all time most wins this season," added Cody Holdaway, general manager of the Kings.
Both the Kings and the Cubs won't be catching the Carstar Okotoks Bisons for the top spot in the division as the team has pulled away with 61 points.
The Kings and Cubs will meet in the second round of the playoffs.
