About 90 kilometres north of Airdrie, the collision caused significant commuter congestion between Calgary and Red Deer. The RCMP confirmed three vehicles were involved, and minor injuries were reported. Emergency crews worked through the night to clear the wreckage.

There are no further details on the cause of the collision.

Motorists should be prepared for winter driving conditions in the coming days, with flurries expected through the weekend and temperatures plunging to minus 29 overnight Sunday. Snow is in the forecast for Tuesday.
