The City of Dryden has provided an update on their Winter Snowfall Event following the first major snowstorm that hit the region.
Over the past two days, the City of Dryden was hit with large amounts of snow that caused accidents, traffic backlogs, and highway closures.
Winter control operations commenced in the early morning hours of November 11, 2021. Since then, the main routes have been plowed multiple times. Highway #17 has been plowed however with the backlog of traffic plowing is limited.
The downtown area was cleared early this morning with crews moving into residential areas thereafter. Please note, all plowing is completed in a priority sequence.
Sidewalk plowing is underway, operations are extremely slow due to the accumulation of heavy wet snow. As this event moves through the area, clean-up will be ongoing.
Winter control operations may cause minor disruptions to traffic as well as increase noise levels. Please use extreme caution when travelling in these areas. Extra time may be required to reach your destination.
