It's the final day to submit your love story to us through our We Love love contest on Swift Current Online. Today we are taking a look at Brittany and Myles's love story.
Brittany told us all about how they met:
"My husband and I met ten years ago when I moved from Ontario to “the middle of nowhere” southwest corner of Saskatchewan to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. Before I left, I started to get cold feet about going. I didn’t know anyone, I was 24 years old, and I’d never even been to Saskatchewan before. So I made an online profile on a dating app and set my radius for what I thought was pretty broad, so that I could meet someone, anyone, to give me a little insight on the prairie life and maybe have a familiar face to see once I got there. Once I had my profile set up with, I took a plunge and clicked “search.” My husband was the ONLY person who showed up within the radius I had set. I remember starting at the screen in disbelief and thought “this can’t be right.” It took me a few days to muster up the courage to finally message the one and only person on my search. Once I finally did, I explained that I was moving blindly and needed a friend to show me the ins and outs of small town life. It was days until he responded back to me. I remember his message being very kind but he ended it with “I don’t actually live there full time right now because I work overseas and I’m not sure when I’ll be home again to help you out.” I remember being so discouraged. I mustered up all that courage and ventured out of my comfort zone to seek help and reassurance from someone who “didn’t even live there.” We ended up conversing back and forth and he did end up helping me with my move from overseas. We met in person 3 months after I arrived to my new home and the rest is history. P.S. he no longer works overseas!"
After 10 years together Brittany says there is alot to love about Myles :
"I love that my husband is selfless, generous, and kind. He constantly puts other people’s needs before his own and would help anyone with no questions asked. He’s a great dad to our 3 beautiful boys and so attentive to all of us."
