John MacArthur from Grace Community Church has been released from hospital after complications following a heart valve replacement.

On January 5, staff pastor and church elder, Tom Patton said that MacArthur's recovery from surgery had been much slower than expected, with occasional setbacks affecting his heart, lungs and kidneys.

On February 7, church elder and executive director of Grace to You, Phil Johnson said MacArthur is at home recovering.

"John MacArthur is recovering at home now. Keep him in your prayers," Johnson said.

Johnson had been dealing with his own health challenges in the meantime after being diagnosed with an incurable blood cancer in June 2024, however, he was also released recently.

"I was released from the hospital during halftime yesterday and am now recovering at home. They want me to stay isolated (no visitors), and they gave Darlene a booklet full of rules, which she is enforcing. Thanks for your ongoing prayers," he said.

Grace Community Church continues to ask for prayers for MacArthur's recovery as well as Johnson's.

Pastor John MacArthur has been involved with Grace Community Church since 1969. He is also a best-selling author.
