Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) arrested a Calgary fentanyl dealer earlier this month.

Police said the arrest was made on February 6 outside of an apartment in the Beltline area. As officers searched the home, they seized more than a kilogram and a half of fentanyl.

According to ALERT, they also found 49 grams of suspected benzodiazepine and over $17,000 in cash.

Twenty-nine-year-old Bolutife Opeodu has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime. Officers mentioned that they began investigating Opeodu in December 2024.

The man remains in custody with a court date set for Tuesday.
