The Saskatchewan Rush (6-2) and Calgary Roughnecks (5-3) will meet up at Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday, February 14th.
The Rush are coming off a 12-8 win over the San Diego Seals in California. Mike Triolo scored four times in the win, while Robert Church and Zach Manns each had eight-point games. Thomas Kiazyk stopped 36/44 for his second straight win. The Rush could be without defender Jerrett Smith who was injured against Las Vegas on January 11th and faceoff specialist Jake Naso, who left the game against Albany on January 25th with a lower body injury.
Prairie Rivals: The Battle of the Prairies was very one sided up until last season, when the Saskatchewan Rush beat the Roughnecks for the first time in five years, thanks to a 12-9 win off the back of a Zach Manns hat trick.
Calgary’s last outing was a 15-12 win in Vancouver. Curtis Dickson had a hat trick and seven points in the game, while Dane Dobbie had a pair of goals and six points. Between the pipes, Cam MacLeod stopped 40/52, improving his season save percentage to .745.
Those Two: Rush Nation may have gotten use to seeing Curtis Dickson and Dane Dobbie in Seals jerseys, but the two have returned to their roots and dawn Roughnecks sweaters once again this season and are on a tear with a combined 82 points this season.
