The County of Grande Prairie will soon launch its 7th annual Business Retention & Expansion (BR+E) survey to better understand the needs, challenges, and plans of local businesses. Feedback from the survey will help shape economic development initiatives and track business trends over time.

Starting Monday, March 3, 2025, County businesses may be contacted by phone or email to participate. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and businesses are encouraged to take part to ensure their priorities are reflected in future planning.

“This survey is an important opportunity for businesses to share their perspectives on what is working well and where support is needed,” says Reeve Bob Marshall. “Your input will help guide our economic development efforts and ensure we are addressing the key issues that matter most to our business community.”

The County has engaged Deloitte LLP, an economic development consulting firm, to support this project. Deloitte will work alongside County staff to analyze the results and identify challenges and opportunities facing local businesses.

“We recognize the critical role that businesses play in driving our local economy,” says Jordan Tidey, the County’s Economic Development Director. “This survey allows us to hear directly from business owners and operators so we can better support their growth and success.” Survey findings will be presented publicly at a Council meeting later this year. Businesses that would like to ensure they are contacted for feedback can reach out by email at ecdev@countygp.ab.ca.
