The Mad Hatters Cornhole Club has been in Strathmore since August, and they are looking to get the community more involved.
The group plays multiple times a week and they also have participated with other cornhole leagues across Alberta in communities such as Okotoks and Lacombe.
David Grice from the Mad Hatters Cornhole Club says they've got a tournament coming up later in February.
"On February 21 and 22, we have a large regional tournament coming up here in Strathmore at the Civic Centre, starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. It doubles along with singles to follow."
There will also be a free junior's tournament. Anybody can participate in the tournament with costs between $30 and $40.
Grice says the club has been popping off with events and lots of excitement from the public.
"We're surprisingly busier than we expected. We've been doing a couple of events with Girl Guides Canada getting out and teaching the young ladies how to throw, which is exciting. Trying to get more women involved in the sport."
