With Valentine's Day on Friday (Feb. 14), many local restaurants are preparing for a busy weekend.
At Mama's Greek Kouzina, located at Third Avenue in Strathmore, co-owner Eleni Dellios said they have limited availability.
"We've had some people call and book reservations as early as a month ago. We've had a lot of calls."
The restaurant has been putting in a lot of preparations for the big day, from creating door prizes to building a special Valentine's Day menu.
"We're very thorough with planning our prep. Nothing is left last minute, and we come in super early with all the prep done," added Dellios. "Our kitchen is extremely organized, which helps for a smooth evening."
The co-owner said that they couldn't do it without their chef, Argyrios Koutsoumpos.
"It helps having someone in the restaurant industry for so long, and just really making sure that his prep is all done. He's here as early as seven in the morning and leaves at around nine in the evening."

Despite being open for almost a year, co-owner Eleftheria Koutsoumpos said that they've seen the restaurant constantly busy since opening up.
"We have people that travel from Okotoks, Cochrane, Brooks, Drumheller, Airdrie, Medicine Hat," said Koutsoumpos.
Mama's Greek Kouzina opened in June of 2024, having their official grand opening in October.
