A new initiative is underway to bring the world together in prayer and worship.
Gather25, led by a collection of ministries, partners, and leaders, hopes to see every Christian from every denomination from every continent come together for a full day of worship, repentance and commissioning in 2025.
In 2022, Bible teacher, bestselling author, and visionary Jennie Allen wrestled with a question that would transform her vision for the future of the global Church: "What if Jesus came back in 10 years?" With 5.5 billion people still unaware of the gospel, Allen’s urgency to reach the lost grew. This vision evolved into Gather25.
"It was this dream," said Allen. "This is absolutely from God because no human could've pulled this off."
Allen says over 25 hours, the global church will connect through live-streaming technology. Each continent will host a portion of the event, with stories of what God is doing on each continent.
"This is quite a picture of the global church," said Allen. "We're going to show stories of what God is doing from every continent and also have speaking, teaching worship and prayer from every continent. It's going to be an incredible event that I want everyone to see."
Currently, there are 14,000 local events taking place across the globe.
"There is an awakening that is happening. I believe that when everybody sees the world and the church the way I've seen it over the years, the church is going to wake up," Allen explained. "I do believe that we can be unified in our mission to take the love of Jesus to every single person who doesn't know him."
Gather25 will take place from Feb. 28 to March 1, 2025.
