Janice Pruys
JULY 9, 1960 – OCTOBER 22, 2021
With her family by her side Janice Pruys (nee Romanek) a lifelong resident of Kenora passed away on October 22, 2021 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital, at the age of 61. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years Ron (Cat), brother Mike (daughter Reeva), 18 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews, 13 brother and sister in-laws. She also leaves her cousin Angie Plante, who was like a sister; plus her two daughters Jess and Becky that were special to Janice.
Predeceased by parents Leonard and Annette Romanek; sister in-law Dianne.
Janice was born in Kenora on July 9, 1960, attended Mount Carmel Elementary School, Thomas Aquinas Secondary School and Beaver Brae High School. Janice started a brief profession as a hairdresser after graduating from Marvel Hairdressing in Winnipeg; followed by years at The Blue Heron and Bearskin Air. Janice was a honest, kind and selfless person; putting friends and family first. She loved life in Kenora, being out on the island and transforming it into her paradise; spending many years enjoying the peace and tranquility there along with evening bonfires. She immensely enjoyed get together’s, travelling and heading south to warmer climates in the winter. Janice loved her flowers, nature and pets.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. November 8, 2021 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with interment to follow at a later date.
