Just before the start of Saturday night’s Humboldt Broncos game, forward Brayden Skogstad was named the team’s RBC Community Ambassador.
Players selected as RBC Community Ambassadors are recognized for making a difference and giving back to the community that they live in. Along with the honour, a $1,000 donation will be made to a school in the community.
With Skogstad’s selection, RBC made a $1,000 donation to the Humboldt Public School.
Via SJHL.ca, the Broncos said, “He (Skogstad) is driven and committed with overwhelming exuberance to care and give back to the fans that cheer him and his teammates on every game. Brayden has been a mainstay in all of the Humboldt Broncos community initiatives. Those Include: Sunday Rec Hockey – Visiting Schools and Lunch Programs – Serving at Humboldt Soup Kitchen – Visiting with residents at St. Mary’s Villa, the Elizabeth Retirement Community, and Humboldt District Hospital. – Special Olympic Floor Hockey – Music Nights at Futuristic Industries.
“Brayden never shies from volunteering within the community, all while taking on his responsibilities with the Broncos organization and working locally at GBC Equipment.”
At the end of the regular season, fans will have the chance to vote online for the RBC Community Ambassador of their choice to be named the recipient of the RBC Community Award. The winner will have an additional donation from RBC to a school in the community.
