Students at Westmount School in Strathmore went head-to-head for the Husky Cup.

The event on Tuesday, Feb. 25 featured ringette and hockey players and took place at the Strathmore Family Centre Arena.

The White Huskies defeated the Black Huskies 12-7.

"This event is the final big hoorah for the hockey program, and we started a ringette program, so they have their game today, and we end it off with a hockey game," said Kyle Tucker, who runs the hockey program at the school.

An interesting part of the game was that the score wasn't reset between games, so the points from the ringette game carried over to the hockey game.

"We did a blended game last year, and the ringette and hockey players seemed to have a bit of a disagreement blending the game, and it was hard for the refs as well, so we decided to do two separate sections."

According to Tucker, there were hundreds of students, parents, and staff who made it out to the event.
