Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer David Leonard has released a new album.
The project is titled Just Jesus and features 12 tracks including the singles, "I Believe It (The Life of Jesus)," and "God of This Place."
Leonard says the album, which was recorded in a secluded cabin in the woods, is a reminder that God is always there and he has always been and will always be the same.
"Whether I’m in a season of wholeness or a season of desperation, that will never change. He’s calling us to look back and be reminded," said Leonard. "The Lord has done great things, and we get to witness His work in our lives, to bask in the glory of what God has done. Everything else but His voice is just noise. We need Him to silence the noise in our lives. At the heart of everything, He wants a relationship with His kids."
Leonard called on some of his closest friends to join him and help him record this album. The songs were recorded in the cabin's living room bathroom and even the closets. The goal was to capture the project in its most organic form.
David later took the recordings back to his studio to refine and polish them.
Leonard is currently preparing to go on tour with Cade Thompson next month. He was most recently out on the road with MercyMe, Newsboys, Josh Balwin and CAIN.
