Humboldt Broncos forward Maddox Amaral has found his next hockey home.

The Nipissing University Lakers announced the commitment of the Komoka, ON product.

This season, Amaral has 26 points (10G-16A) with the Broncos. Over his three seasons in Humboldt, the 20-year-old has collected 95 points (39G-56A) in 146 games in green and gold.

Nipissing University competes in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and is based in North Bay, Ontario. This season they finished in 7th spot in the Western Division with a 10-18 record.

In a release from Nipissing University, Amaral said, "As a player, I pride myself on my strong work ethic and 200-foot play style, as well as my commitment on and off the ice. With each experience presented to me, my passion for the sport has deepened and has taught me to overcome adversity."

"I've been lucky enough to be recognized for my commitment as a player and have been the assistant captain the past two seasons with the Broncos. I look forward to working hard, showing my passion and having fun with the Lakers next season."

Broncos HC/GM Brayden Klimosko added in a team release, "“We’re really happy for Maddox that he’s getting the opportunity to pursue his hockey and academic career at the U-SPORT level. He’s been one of the league’s hardest working players for a number of years now and is really deserving of this. Obviously, even before I arrived, he’s worn the Broncos jersey proudly and has been an incredible ambassador for the team and community both on and off this ice.”
