Horseshoe Crossing High School is set to celebrate its official grand opening.
According to Rocky View Schools, the facility opened in September 2024 serving Grade 9-11 students in Langdon, Dalemead, Indus, and Janet, and this addition will add Grade 12 students next year.
"Currently 326 students are enrolled at Horseshoe Crossing High School. Enrolment is expected to grow year over year as the surrounding communities continue to develop. The school is projected to grow to approximately 445 next year when it expands to Grade 12," said Ben Sherick, communications officer with the organization.

Sherick told StrathmoreNow that the school was approved by the Alberta government in 2020 after residents in Langdon kept advocating for a new one.
"Not only will this school provide additional space, but it also allows the students of this community to attend high school where they live for the first time."
The school will host the festivities in its gymnasium on Friday, March 7.
