It's almost showtime!
It's an all-time Canadian classic beloved by many and the students at Mennonite Collegiate Institute in Gretna are ready to bring it to life this week (March 6th, 7th & 8th) at Buhler Hall in Gretna, their next musical is Anne of Green Gables. Get your tickets here!
Music Director at MCI Erin Klassen says the story was selected due to the fact that it IS a Canadian classic: "This is a classic Canadian story. I think most people are familiar with it. It has really great messages. It's about family, community and belonging. It was a show that was considered a few years ago, but for various reasons just didn't work out at that time, so it seemed like a really good fit for our group of students this year."

It takes a lot of effort to put on an MCI production
Director Erin Klassen mentioned how much effort and participation it takes to put on a musical production like this: "Well, this year weave 29 students on stage, another six or so backstage and doing tech things. Plus, we have students who have helped with set building, our art classes and others have helped with set painting, hair and makeup... all together, we have at least 3/4 of the school, maybe even more participating in some way."

There are two evening shows on March 6th and 7th at 7:30 PM. March 8th is an afternoon show at 2:00. All of the shows take place at Buhler Hall!
