Over 60 Grade 2's gathered for our I love to Read Month visit to Ecole Elmwood School

It was the final stop for CFAM Morning Show co-host Zack Driedger's I Love to Read Month visits, Ecole Elmwood School in Altona!

Once he finished chatting with his wife who teaches Kindergarten at Ecole Elmwood, he rounded up all 60 Grade 2 students from four different classes in the library for some reading! The book he read was "One, Two, Three, Oops!" written by Michael Coleman and Illustrated by Gwyneth Williamson. The book had all 60 of those students howling with laughter, they all thoroughly enjoyed that one.

The I Love to Read month train kept rolling with Friesen's Corporation and Golden West as CFAM Morning show co-host Zack Driedger visited Rosenfeld Elementary School along with Ryan Hildebrand, Sales Manager from Friesen's Corp. Ryan read the book "We Need Everyone" by Michael Redhead Champagne, illustrated by Tiff Bartel and not only did the kids enjoy hearing Ryan read the book, but every single grade 2 student at Rosenfeld Elementary went home with a copy as well!

Gretna School was our first stop for I Love to Read Month

Tuesday morning, we kicked off our month-long tour of reading to Grade 2 students across the region. We have plans to visit and read to hundreds of elementary students over the next four weeks. Tagging along for the fun will our friends from Friesens Corporation in Altona to share in the joy of reading.

Yesterday morning CFAM Radio 950 Morning Show Co-Host Zack Driedger & Music Director Eva Heide visited the home of the Gretna Grizzlies, Gretna Elementary School to read to a very well-behaved and inquisitive group of Grade 2's!

New Partnership for MCC & the Pembina Valley Pregnancy Care Centre culminates in a shopping day today

Altona MCC invited the Pembina Valley Pregnancy Care Centre to partner on raising awareness and funds to highlight the good work each organization is doing. In past years Altona MCC has generously provided financial support to the Pregnancy Care Centre so that more women, men, couples and families can receive help when facing challenges related to an unexpected pregnancy.

Today, Altona MCC is dedicating 100% of sales from Wednesday January 29th to the Pregnancy Care Centre! Store hours are 9:00am - 5:00pm.

New organizers excited for an evening of music, food, games and fellowship at the Morris Christmas Dinner this Saturday

It's a family affair when to comes to the organizing committee for the 2024 Morris Christmas Dinner, Liz Hoffman along with her husband Troy, parents John and Esther Lowen, and her in-laws Mary Ann and Dale Hoffman are the six in charge of organizing this year's Morris Christmas Dinner!

Traditionally held on Christmas Day, the event has been moved to Saturday, December 21st this year.
