Soup, pie and a concert - You can have it all at MCI in Gretna this Friday

Mennonite Collegiate Institute in Gretna is gearing up for another Soup & Pie & Fall Concert this Friday, November 8th, it's taking place at the school, the meal runs from 5:30-7:00pm with the concert kicking off at 7:30!

The hour-long concert will feature a full school concert choir, a chamber choir, two jazz groups and new this year, a string ensemble will be performing as well.

Winnipeg firefighter Lindsey Ingram wins four gold medals at the Firefighter Challenge World Championships

The Firefighter Challenge League annually conducts up to 8 classic events in the Firefighter Challenge Championship Series that concludes with the World Championship event each October.

This year’s championship was hosted in Nashville, Tennessee October 21st-25th. The FCL pits elite firefighters from around the world against each other – and the clock. The athletes enter the skills-based challenge course known as the "Arena of the Brave" to complete "Five Essential Functions" – High-Rise Pack Carry, Hose Heist, Forcible entry, Hose Advance and Victim Rescue.
