Cochrane RCMP said that a propane truck rollover shut down a section of Highway 1A between Woodland Road and Lochend Road on Friday. No injuries were reported, but emergency crews managed a propane spill at the scene.
The highway remained closed while a controlled flaring operation was conducted to safely burn off the remaining propane.
As of Saturday morning, Highway 1A has fully reopened, and normal traffic flow has resumed.
The crash occurred two weeks after a similar incident west of Airdrie, where a propane truck rolled over on Range Road 13 near Highway 566. In that case, crews offloaded the propane, and no injuries or public risk were reported.
