Gather25, a new initiative to bring the world together in prayer and worship, was beyond successful, reaching millions of people across the globe, including in Winnipeg.
Millions of people worldwide praised God through live-streaming technology, putting him front and centre Friday and Saturday.
"I felt a fool so many days in the last 2 years. But we are not fools to put the full weight of our trust in God!!" ," said Jennie Allen, who felt called by God to host this event.
At one point every church, group and person who participated in Gather25, sang the doxology, a sound unlike anything heard before.
"The doxology in every location was my absolute favorite! Something special about joining in singing the same thing across the world, joining the generations of the church who sang this song for centuries. God's so worthy!" said one participant.
Allen says it was amazing to hear stories and songs of worship from around the world.
"To all you crazy faithful fools who trusted him beside me beginning with my family and team but moving to hosts, speakers, donors, prayer warriors, volunteers, storytellers, worship leaders, production teams, tech geniuses and the thousands of others of you around the world that said yes when you had no idea what this actually was.... it was an honor to trust God beside you!!!! Thank you! He did the thing yall!!!!"
