While warm weather has been the climate for the past week, we're seeing a bit of a dip into more winter-like conditions over the next few days.

That began with some overnight snow which blanketed the southeast, while not dropping any significant amounts over the areas.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Danielle Desjardins says from what they saw that was triggered by a chill that rushed through the area.

"We don't have any official reports, looks like maybe a centimeter or two just based on what we saw on radar. But yeah, it's definitely a dusting of snow. There was a weak cold front that swept through the area, so that triggered some reaction overnight."

The chance of flurries will continue over the next couple of days, though Desjardins says it's uncertain whether we'll see more snow.

"It's just some remnant instability in the air, just from the weak system that passed through. So you could see some off and on flurries today, and even a chance tomorrow later in the afternoon."

Desjardins says we'll at least be free of the freeze-thaw cycle as temperatures lower, but that won't be permanent.

"Over the next few days, it is going to be a little bit cooler than it has been. So we're going to see temperatures below the freezing mark out over the freestyle for a few days. However, we are going to see another warm up by the end of the week into the weekend."
