We're back for another Made in Manitoba, and this weekend we're celebrating a true Canadian musical icon nominated for his fourth Juno award. Big Dave McLean was born in Saskatchewan and raised in Winnipeg, still calling our provincial capital home.
He's one of the true pioneers of Canadian blues, and is an unbelievably talented guitar player and harmonicist. He's received a Juno nomination for Blues Album of the Year for his latest project "This Old Life", which came out last year.
We're so fortunate to have Big Dave McLean join us to celebrate that accomplishment, and also speak about his decades long career.
He will share the story behind the album's title... which was picked for two reasons. And at 72 years old, and performing for more than 50 years, we'll also have him reflect on his career and the influence he's had on the Canadian Blues scene.
