An Essential Fundraiser
Morris Youth for Christ is getting ready for another Gala of Hope Fundraiser, an annual event they hold every year to raise money for their general budget. Program Director at Morris YFC Nickel broke down exactly how the funds donated get put to use: "So all of the donations from the gala go to our general budget, which just goes to running the building, planning and making events happen for the kids. A big one is doing suppers every Monday for youth, often that's donated, often we're buying that ourselves. Our salaries are 100% fundraised separately, so all of this fundraising from the gala goes towards making programs happen, making space for the youth. This year we bought a vehicle actually for the drop in off of a separate donation."
Entertainment & Food
Josh let us know that "there's tons of appetizers provided by Morris Big way, so lots and lots of food, even though it's not a supper. There's entertainment, which this year as discussed is John Michael Hinton, the magician. Which I'm usually not entertained by magicians, but last time John Michael was here, he blew my mind."
