Make sure to check your smoke detector as clocks spring ahead this weekend

Make sure to spring your clocks forward one hour this weekend.

On Sunday, March 9 at 2 a.m. local time clocks will shift ahead.

Staff with Drumheller Fire & Rescue are also reminding residents to make sure they check their smoke detectors.

"This is a good time to test your smoke alarms and change replaceable batteries if needed," wrote the organization in a Facebook post.

Residents will lose an hour of sleep; however, the sun will set later in the evening.
