Our charity of the month is Tiny Hands of Hope for the month of March.
Tiny Hands of Hope has been a beacon of support for mothers and families in Grande Prairie for over 10 years. Founded by Karen Gilkinson after her own experience with loss, the organization aims to create a community for those grieving infant and pregnancy loss.
President of Tiny Hands of Hope, Bethany Rose explains, "Our mission is to support the community in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas by helping those journeying through their grief."
The organization hosts a variety of monthly events, including support circles on the third Thursday of every month at the Hub, located in the Big Brothers Big Sisters building.
"We welcome anyone to join our Facebook page for regular updates and announcements," Bethany adds. These events are designed to provide a safe space for families to connect and heal, with childcare provided during sessions.
In addition to support circles, Tiny Hands of Hope organizes special events like the Bereaved Mother's Day Brunch, held the Sunday before Mother's Day, and the upcoming Friendship Balls in April. These events are open to all family members and aim to foster a sense of community and connection.
Tiny Hands of Hope also welcomes donations and support from individuals and organizations. Tiny Hands of Hope is Charity of the month, and the Gert Martens Mortgage team is currently matching donations up to $1,000.
