Rob Carnie - Behind the scenes: negotiations with the CUPE union and an agreement reached.
Maryse Carmichael - Yes, so we do have three different unions at the city, and CUPE was the one that we've been in negotiations with, as the biggest number of employees at the city are part of the CUPE union.
So, our Director of HR, Director Karwandy, has been negotiating with the union. It’s more, really happy news, we’re delighted for both parties.
I think it worked out well that we reached the agreement. We will do an official signing and an official release in the next few weeks, but it is it is agreed.
Rob - Which city workers belong to CUPE Local 9?
Maryse - So, most of our employees in Public Works, Parks and Rec as well as City Hall itself are part of it.
Rob - Willl details about this contract be released in the coming days?
Maryse - Absolutely, there'll be a news release on it and an official signing ceremony with the team from the union and the city.
Rob - Okay.
