Seniors from Lambert Village in Strathmore are asking the town to remove snow from Parklane Way.
The group sent in a petition that garnered 80 signatures.
Despite the signatures, Johnathan Strathdee, manager of communications, marketing, and legislative services with the town said the petition won't be accepted.
"This petition has been determined to be insufficient in accordance with the Municipal Government Act (MGA) as not all signatures were witnessed. There was not an identical purpose statement on each page, not all signatures were from electors, and the petition was not signed by 10 per cent of the population."
Marilyn Galvin, president of Lambert Village said the group hired a landscaping company to help with snow removal, however, they won't do the road.
"It's a simple little thing and it would take like maybe seven minutes for one tractor just to make one path so these 70-to 85-year-old people can get their vehicles in there."
Councillor Jason Montgomery started a motion to bring the addition of Parklane Way to a future snow management discussion.
CAO Kevin Scoble said the town runs the talks anywhere between June and September with the likelihood of it being brought back in June.
"I believe this is a private road, but we'll confirm that."
Galvin responded back that it wasn't a private road, and Scoble mentioned the town would check.

Councillor Denise Peterson said it's important the town look into the issue as Strathmore's residents continue to age.
"From now until 2045 the senior population in this community is going to advance dramatically, and there are going to be a lot of things like this that we're going to have to address."
Peterson suggested an amendment for the issue be brought back to council at a later date.
Council voted unanimously in approval.
Councillor Brent Wiley supported the motion saying it was a reasonable request.
"There's only one road access here and then the difficulty of hiring somebody to come in and remove the snow from this public roadway, I get that. That's a unique situation."
More information will be given to council by the September 17 meeting.
