Kyle Bennett acknowledges that septic service isn’t front of mind for a lot of people.
“A lot of people don’t even want to think about it,” he says. “It’s one of those things where you just want to flush the toilet and not worry about it.”
But Bennett, who owns and operates Southwest Septic & Vac in Shaunavon, also reminds property owners who rely on a septic tank that their tank requires serving at least once per year. And Farms, he points out, need to ensure that solids don’t build up, pipes don’t get plugged and fluids continue to overflow into the septic field.
“Everybody has the need for septic service,” he says. “We have the equipment and the time to be able to handle it when you need it.”
RVs, lake lots and other vacation properties may need it every month, for example. So, to serve them even better, Southwest Septic & Vac has developed a sort of subscription offering in which they provide monthly or even biweekly septic service.
The property owner doesn’t have to think about it, or even be present – a Southwest truck simply arrives and does the work. And, as a sweetener for anyone who needs more regular septic service, the company has a special introductory offer.
“If you sign up for our monthly service until September, we’ll give you May free of charge,” says Bennett.
Initially an equipment rental company for the energy industry, Southwest Septic & Vac has recently been expanding its septic service to include more rural and industrial customers, as well as those who own properties at Lac Pelletier, in the Duncairn Dam area and around the region’s other lakes and vacation lots.
“Our main focus is growing in these areas, but we would look at any lake, any farm or any acreage in the southwest,” Bennett says.
He adds that increased need, coupled with a desire for good customer service, has created an opening for his business.
“I think there’s a lot of demand here,” he says. “It’s more about the service for us. We’re able to react quickly and get out to our customers as quickly as possible.”
In addition to its septic component, Southwest Septic & Vac also has porta potties, combo trailers and hand-wash stations, and their all-inclusive BBQ trailer is available to rent for community fundraisers, corporate events, family get-togethers and any other social occasion.
“You can call our office at (306) 297-4080 or reach out by emailing swrentals@sasktel.net,” says Bennett. “We’re also on Facebook.” Located at 237 7th St in Shaunavon, Southwest Rentals also has additional information regarding its services on its website.
