The Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, is rebranding as the Alberta NW Palliative Care Society to better reflect the regions it serves, including the MD of Greenview, Saddle Hills County, and the City and County of Grande Prairie.
Executive Director Carrie Bartsch expressed gratitude for community support, "We are so incredibly thankful to our community for all the support that we receive on an ongoing basis."
Despite the lack of provincial or federal funding, the society relies on local contributions and donations to keep its programs running. One such initiative is the iPad loaner program, which allows patients to stay connected with care teams, especially in rural areas.
The society recently launched the 20 for $20 fundraising campaign to support volunteer training and services.

"Our volunteers are vital to providing comfort and support to those in need. Every dollar raised will help us continue this essential work," Bartsch said.
