A welcoming, creative event for everyone
Neubergthal has played host to many poetry nights in the past and there's another one coming up this Thursday in the Bergthal Schoolhouse!
Maxine Penner, one of the organizers of the event had this to say on who this event is for: "I would say it's for everyone. Whether you're younger or older, or whether you've been to an event like this before or not, if you're curious, if you want to share, if you just want to come to listen, if you just want to have an evening out at the village. Yeah, I would say everyone is welcome."
Family Style
Penner continued: "So what we will do... honestly, I can't say for sure 'cause we kind of always take it as it comes, but what we've done in the past is we gather together and we often like sitting in a circle, being connected that way and then, we'll basically just take turns sharing pieces. It'll be a mixture of people who have come to listen and just to take in the evening, and also people who have come with a piece, either that they've written or a favorite piece by a poet they love. It's kind of just family style and we'll have some probably hot drinks and snacks as well. People linger and just hang out and chat afterwards."
