The City of Grande Prairie is implementing seasonal weight restrictions on gravel roads within City limits, beginning Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
These restrictions help protect gravel roads from damage during the spring thaw.
During the ban, all gravel roads are limited to 75% axle weight between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Gravel road bans are a routine measure used to maintain the integrity of roadways. Restrictions may be introduced due to seasonal changes, ongoing maintenance or construction activities. The City continuously monitors road conditions to determine when weight limits are necessary.
