The Stomp Family

It’s time to rally and support Humboldt and area’s own. Craig and Heather Stomp are strong community supporters, volunteers, and exemplary ambassadors for Humboldt and the area. A recent diagnosis requires community assistance through Go Fund Me.

The following document was prepared by Heather’s cousin Anne Ramler and is reprinted here with the consent of the family and Go Fund Me.

My name is Anne Ramler and I am Heather's cousin. I am creating this Go Fund Me page on behalf of her family to support Heather in her journey with ovarian cancer.

At the end of February, Heather and Craig Stomp received the devastating diagnosis of Heather’s advanced ovarian cancer.

Heather started treatment at the Cancer Centre March 19th. Her treatment will include chemotherapy/surgery and then further rounds of chemotherapy as first steps to deal with this disease.

As a well-respected teacher at St Augustine School in Humboldt, it breaks Heather’s heart to have to step away from her classroom and her Grade 3 students while she undergoes treatment.

Craig works at KMK Sales, and this development will likely involve interruptions to his work schedule. Craig has been involved in serving the Humboldt community for many years. He has been a member of the Humboldt & District Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. He has sat on numerous boards including Saskatchewan Volunteer Firefighters Association, Humboldt Hammerheads Swim Club, Humboldt Golf Club, Humboldt Broncos, and the Jaycees.

This sudden diagnosis will involve multiple trips to and from Saskatoon for treatments, increased costs for medications, meals, accommodations (when needed), and parking," reads the GoFundMe fundraising appeal launched by Anne Ramler.

The original goal was $10,000 and $18,245 has already been raised in 2 days. The need is still there, so consider making your donation at the following link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/499x2-support-the-stomp-family
