Southern Plains Co-op is once again rallying the community to support STARS Air Ambulance. From March 17 to 31, the co-op will be raising funds through cookie sales, donation cards, and a special Fuel Up Day—all to help keep STARS in the sky for those who need it most.

During the fundraiser, customers can purchase STARS cookies in six-packs, with $3 from each pack going directly to the emergency medical service. These delicious cookies have become a staple of the fundraiser, allowing community members to enjoy a treat while supporting a vital cause. Additionally, helicopter donation cards will be available at all Southern Plains Co-op locations, providing another way for people to contribute.

A highlight of the fundraising period is Fuel Up Day on March 28. On this day, five cents from every litre of fuel pumped at Co-op gas bars will be donated to STARS. This initiative not only raises significant funds but also brings the community together in a shared effort to support emergency medical services.

“We’ve been fundraising for STARS since 2022, and it’s a cause that means a lot to our community,” said Brooke Spagrud, marketing manager for Southern Plains Co-op. “The costs to operate STARS continue to rise, but so does the need. Almost everyone has a connection to STARS in some way.” -Check out the full interview

The fundraiser wraps up on March 31, with Southern Plains Co-op aiming to present the results before the annual STARS Radiothon. The community's generous support over the years has made a substantial impact, and this year's efforts are expected to continue that tradition of giving.

By participating in the fundraiser, community members can help ensure that STARS remains ready to respond to emergencies across Saskatchewan. Whether through purchasing cookies, donation cards, or fueling up on March 28, every contribution makes a difference.
