The warning will remain in effect for Kananaskis Country, Banff National Park, Jasper National Park, Kootenay National Park, and Yoho National Park.

Two deaths were reported over the past few weeks, one in Kananaskis Country and the other in the Lake Louise ski area.

"Anyone heading into avalanche terrain is advised to have essential rescue gear and the training to use it – including a transceiver, probe, and shovel."

According to Avalanche Canada, the natural disasters lead to more deaths each year than all other natural disasters combined.
