Two people were seriously injured early Sunday evening in a single-vehicle crash in Richer.
Richer Deputy Fire Chief David Reith says crews were called around 5:10 p.m. to the intersection of PR 302 and Dawson Road. Both occupants had to be extricated from the vehicle and were taken to Health Sciences Centre.
Reith describes their injuries as “fairly severe,” adding that one person was airlifted by STARS while the other was transported by ground ambulance.
He says it appears the vehicle was heading north into Richer when it lost control, hit a rock in a driveway, and then struck a tree.
The intersection is closed as RCMP investigate.
This was the second time STARS was called to a crash on Sunday. Earlier in the morning, they transported a patient from a collision near Zhoda to Health Sciences Centre.
