Man remains in critical condition after serious assault

Pembina Valley RCMP continue to investigate after responding to a report of a serious assault Friday night. According to information released by the RCMP, the incident occurred outside a Somerset residence at approximately 10:45pm.

Pembina Valley RCMP officers responded, and found a 40-year-old male, from Portage la Prairie, with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital via STARS Air Ambulance where he remains in critical condition.

A 33-year-old male was arrested on scene, and was still in police custody as of Sunday afternoon.
