Thanks to its recent success, a new show that showcases King David's life will get a second season.
Within the first 17 days of its debut, House of David, a Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios project directed by Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn, had reached over 22 million viewers. It is also among the top 10 series debuts in the U.S. to date.
Season one of House of David shares the story of the rise of David, while Season two follows the aftermath of the battle of David and Goliath and David's rise to the throne.
"I’m grateful for the nearly 700 people working every day to make this show real,” said Jon Erwin in an Amazon MGM Studios press release.
Season 1 of House of David premiered on Feb. 27, 2025. It's unclear as to when Season 2 will be released.
