Wednesday, farmers across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba are heading to their local Rocky Mountain Equipment (RME) to celebrate Customer Appreciation Day!

Here in the prairies, we love to celebrate our farmers – whether you’re a farmer yourself, a business owner, someone who works in the ag industry, or none of the above, you know how much hard work goes into keeping the world fed.
So, today, RME is giving back by feeding you!

RME Kindersley Sales Representative, Brent Johns, invites everyone to “come in, have a free meal on us, visit everybody in the shop, chat with some reps, and just enjoy spending some time with our community!”

In addition to a free lunch, customers can take 15% New Holland and Case oil and filters, get discounts on select Väderstad and Bourgault tillage tools, and get special pricing on Red Seal inspections and labour.

“Inspection and labour specials will likely be available for older, vintage equipment as well,” said Johns.
There will also door prizes available, valued up to $1,000, including a customized mini-fridge.
“We’ll have a few demos going too,” he continued. “We’re going to have a newer sprayer and newer monitors you can actually sit in to see all the new options on them. We won’t be driving them to avoid any safety concerns, but we will have some tractor driving demos.”

For anyone not involved in the ag industry, a trip to an ag equipment dealer might not sound very enticing. But if you’ve never seen the equipment up close, are curious to see how it works, or just want to check out the new building in town, Johns would be more than happy to show you around. Plus, you could always check out their selection of Traeger grills and smokers.

“It’s pretty impressive to get [into the shop] and see how things can be done, how we’re able to even work on the big equipment nowadays,” he said. “We’ve got an overhead crane which makes things a whole lot easier. Years ago, we were using forklifts to take cabs off tractors, to get down into the transmission, or lift the booms off sprayers, so the crane helps a lot. It’s very nice to have.”

Having worked at RME Kindersley for the past 14 years, plus 4 years prior when they were still operating as J&B Equipment, Johns is a face that many people in the community recognize and trust.

“I grew up on a farm near Luseland, and moved to Kindersley when I was fresh out of high school. Since then, I’ve been working in the community here, both at RME and volunteering in hockey and other things,” he said.

He continued, “With RME, I started by pulling wrenches in the back, but eventually moved to the GPS end of product sales and support. I know quite a bit, now, and I’m always happy to walk customers through any issues they have over the phone, or get them set up with the upgrades they need to keep working.”

RME Kindersley offers service and support over the phone and in person for customers in the greater West Central area. On-location service is available in and around Marengo, Luseland, Eston, Netherhill, Brock, Eatonia, and Leader.

“We’ve got a big area, but if you need help, we’ll do what we can to be there for you,” said Johns. Johns and the entire team at RME give their all to their customers, but they go above and beyond for the rest of the community, too.

“We support local initiatives like the Kindersley Rodeo, the Sand Drags, 4H Clubs around the area, and Ducks Unlimited. We give items to raffle for hockey and ball fundraisers. We also have a work experience program with the high school to help local students interested in farming or mechanics refine their skills and figure out what they want to do.”

If you’re in the Kindersley area, make sure to head to RME today for Customer Appreciation Day and check out what’s new in the ag world.
