Driver killed in rollover near Sundown

One person is dead following a single-vehicle rollover near Sundown.

Emerson RCMP received a report of the crash on Saturday at 10:50 am. Police say the rollover happened on Provincial Road (PR) 201, near Sundown Road.

Officers attended the scene and located the vehicle which had left the roadway and collided with some trees and rolled. 

Police say the 47-year-old female driver, who was not wearing her seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead on scene.

Investigators believe the vehicle was travelling west on PR 201 at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and rolled. It is believed that the collision occurred early Saturday morning.

Emerson RCMP continue to investigate.
